Andy Park

Welcome Ministry

Andy has been a member of Living Way since 2013. He was born in Boston, MA but raised in Seoul, South Korea. Despite living in Korea for 10 years, his Korean is actually quite terrible, elementary level at best. It didn’t take long for him to be integrated into the LW community, so he decided to join the Welcome ministry to help others do the same. Aside meeting new people his passion includes all Boston sports, reading, eating (especially ramen), all things television, and God.

What’s your role at Living Way?
Co-leader of the Welcome Ministry alongside Michelle Chang.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Simple, honest, sincere

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
People who can do impressions.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who don't cover up when they sneeze.

Christina Lee

The Effect - Prayer Ministry

Christina grew up in Lompoc, CA, a little town between Santa Barbara and Pismo that she likes to call the Midwest of California. Her family introduced her to Jesus, and she really fell in love with his kingdom in college. She’s excited to be co-leading the Effect Ministry because she’s seen how intercession has changed her own heart and because she truly believes that God works through prayer. 

Christina currently works in data analytics at a quasi-startup. She’s kind of a homebody and thinks that a perfectly legitimate reason not to go out is that she’s already home. She’s only really into cool things like Star Wars and Harry Potter, and only has super exciting hobbies like playing games and reading.

What’s your role at Living Way?
I co-lead the Effect ministry with Dave!

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Cheerful, introspective, nerdy.

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
My friends.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
When someone asks me a question but doesn't listen to my response.

David Choe

The Effect - Prayer Ministry

David was born and raised in Chicago, the youngest child and super latchkey kid of a Korean pastor.  He committed his life to Christ at age 10, missions at age 11, and knew early on that his life would be set apart for the Lord.  He made the move to LA around 10 years ago to be closer to family and escape those freezing cold winters.

David works as a Systems Analyst for a government pension company.  His free time is spent traveling the world (16 countries and counting…), hiking, Yelping, speaking Spanish, master-folding laundry, sharing the gospel, and loving on his niece and nephew.  What really connected him to Living Way was Mexico missions and a great Discipleship Community (Eastside!!).

What’s your role at Living Way?
Co-leader of The Effect Prayer Ministry alongside Christina Lee.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Optimistic, independent, loyal.

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
Holiday parties at my office. They are truly epic.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Cheap people.

Good people and solid biblical teaching. The ministry here has fostered a renewal of my faith in and love for Jesus Christ.

Helen Oh

Kingdom Kids Ministry

Helen has been a member of Living Way since 2000 and met her husband, Youkeun, at church. They now have 4 beautiful children together, Rylie, Ryder, Ryenn, and River. She grew up attending church, but it was during her last year in college that she rededicated her life to Christ while attending Living Way. She served as the local missions ministry co-leader until 2007 and is currently a DC leader for the Valley Women’s group. She loves spending time with her family and friends, shopping, eating dessert, and watching K-dramas.

What’s your role at Living Way?
Director of Kingdom Kids.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Perfectionist, Optimistic, Organized.

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
What my kids say. I write them down, so I never forget them.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who smoke when kids are around.

James Kim

Creative Ministry

James has been a member of Living Way since 2015. His passion for music and art started when he was 7. He’s been in his current role as a Creative Director for 9 years, 3 at a design agency and 6 at leading SaaS technology company. James loves to spend time with his family, surf, and destroy people at table tennis. Although he grew up in a Christian family, his true pursuit of holiness began in 2010 after reading “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan. As Deacon of Creative Ministry at Living Way, he aims to represent Christ and all His glory through creative arts.

What’s your role at Living Way?
Oversee the Creative Ministry and ensue that Christ and all his glory is represented through creative excellence.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Genuine, Outgoing, Crazy

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
When Isaiah (my son) says crazy stuff.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
People living it up beyond their means.

I love the genuineness of the body, I love how kids are part of service and get to experience and watch their elders worship Christ.

Karen Kim

Events Ministry

Karen was born in New York, but moved to Southern California at the age of 2. Coming from a family of non-believers, Karen was sent to church by her parents to learn Korean. Very little Korean was learned but she did come to know and accept Christ. She attended UCSD as a Communications major but decided to jump on the pharmacy bandwagon during her senior year. She went on to the University of Michigan to receive her PharmD and currently practices as a clinical pharmacist at a community hospital. In her free time, Karen enjoys running, hiking, eating, shopping, and traveling. She has been a member at Living Way since 2012 and is thankful for the pastors, the amazing people she’s met, and the opportunity to serve in a capacity that enables fellowship and growth of deeper relationships.

Michelle Chang

Welcome Ministry

Michelle was born in Houston, raised in Seoul, and worked in New York until moving to Los Angeles in 2012. Although she was raised by loving Christian parents, it wasn’t until post-college that she decided to dedicate her life to Christ. She currently works in the entertainment field and hopes to spread the gospel through example in the workplace. She enjoys watching football (Go Giants!), visiting museums and cafes, road trips, and hiking. Visiting every California national and state park is high on her bucket list.

Michelle Lee

Chief of Ministry & Operations

Receiving Christ into her life at an early age, Michelle felt God’s calling to go into ministry.  After graduating from UCLA, she attended Talbot Seminary and finished her M.Div. in 2008.  She served as a youth pastor at her home church in the OC area for 6 years and has been currently serving at LW since 2012.  She has been married to her husband, Phil, for 6 years and they have a daughter named Olivia Lucy.

What’s your role at Living Way?
To take care of the administration, finances, and most of all, our Diakonos team!

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Gentle, old school, simple.

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
My husband, Phil.

Lack of communication.

Mike Choi

Audio/Visual Ministry

Mike was born in Guam and lived in Hawaii most of his life. A true islander. 
After high school, he left the warm tropical weather behind and joined the military, worked in different job fields, moved from place to place, but only found himself chasing the emptiness of worldly glory.  He later moved to California and started attending Living Way, where he recommitted his life to the Lord. 

He currently works in sales in the pro audio/video industry which is why he felt led to serve in the AV ministry.  Mike enjoys the outdoors, being active, and “bro-ing” out while watching combat sports.

Paul Yi

Lunch Ministry

Paul has been serving on the Lunch Ministry since 2014. He was born in Kansas and spent most of his elementary years in South Dakota and Missouri. He moved to Southern California in 1998 and has been living here ever since. Through observing his Mom’s dedication to Christ and her faithful commitment in serving the church, he has been able to witness the impact it has on others and hopes to emulate those values.  Paul’s interest in food started when he worked as a part time waiter for a restaurant while paying for college. His passion for cooking developed as he learned that cooking at home can save you hundreds of dollars. On his free time, you will find him binge watching shows on Netflix, taking his dogs Oreo and Tooboo out for a hike, or hosting countless dinner parties at his house.

What’s your role at Living Way?
I lead the awesome Lunch Ministry team, who are committed to providing an atmosphere of fellowship and community by preparing Sunday lunches.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Personable, outgoing, and handy.

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
Whenever I think about my past embarrassing moments (there are a lot).

What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people start to tell me something but then say never mind. TELL MEEEEE!

Sara Han

Events Ministry

Sara is a SoCal native though she loves to travel as much as possible.  She believes God wants us to explore the beautiful world He created. Sara was born into a churchgoing family and considers it a huge blessing and protection that she knew the Lord her whole life. But it was especially after a season of hardship in her late 20s when the Lord met her radically that she realized joy is constant beyond circumstances and acknowledged God’s goodness and sovereignty in her life. Sara majored in English and Psychology at UCLA, and now works as a pharmacist.

Sara’s biggest fears are loved ones not really knowing Jesus Christ. Sara likes to read, be out in nature, and eat good food with good people. Sara’s favorite time each day is time spent with the Lord, be it alone or with others. Sara loves being pursued by the Lord and loves pursuing Him, and thinks it’s extra fun to be able to do that with such a great church family.

Sarah Yim

Missions Ministry

Sarah was born and raised in Wisconsin. She moved to California in 2007. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!), she continued her study in the field of communication sciences and disorders to receive her MS at Chapman University. She currently works and loves her job as a speech-language pathologist.

Sarah has been a member at Living Way since 2013. She enjoys reading the Word, spending time outdoors in nature, doing arts and crafts, and eating candy. She finds great joy in sharing who Jesus is in her life to others and shining the light of Christ to all those around her.

The joy of co-leading the Missions Ministry.

Steven Song

Administrative Assistant

Steven has been a Living Way member since 2014. He is originally from New York and made his way over to Los Angeles in 2013 to pursue his dreams in the film industry. He bleeds blue, not because of the Dodgers, but because of an undying love for his alma mater - the University of Michigan. Steven grew up in the church but it wasn’t until later in life that he really committed his life to following Christ in response to His overwhelming love.
