Pastoral Staff

Council of Elders

The Council of Elders is Living Way’s senior leadership and chief governing body. This group consists of the pastors and elders whose primary function is to set the direction of the church as led by God and ensure the fulfillment of the vision.

James Yim

Co-Lead Pastor

Despite his best efforts to pursue the world and throw away his life, God graciously intervened and transformed James’ life through a show on television while in college.  Soon after, he changed his major from graphic design to religious studies, sensing God’s call to lead and shepherd His people through the local church. James is passionate about helping to transform lives through the preaching of God’s Word, life-on-life discipleship, and just loving on people by meeting them where they are.

James is married to the most wonderful girl, Jeandarlae, and have four children, Micaiah, Piper, Jaxon, and Addison. His favorite pastimes include spending time with his family, reading just about everything, rooting for the Dodgers (he swears he bleeds blue), and listening to music. Speaking of music, if James was to describe himself in a couple of sentences, this is what he would say: “I was born to be a musician. I just don’t have the talent.” He says he’s going to ask God why that is when He meets Him in glory.

Ray Causly II

Co-Lead Pastor

Surrounded by gangs and drugs as a kid, Ray made a vow to do whatever it took to never live in “the hood” again. As a result, wealth became his drive until in high school God opened his eyes to see the true treasure hidden in a field. That event forever changed him and made Christ His pearl of great price. Now by God’s providential grace, Ray and his family have made Compton their home.

Ray is married to his “Baby” Ruth for over 15 years. They have four unique children, Moriah, Ray, Trinity, and Charis. If you don’t find Ray hangin’ with the fam watching cartoons and playing Black Ops with his son, you’ll find him at the gym getting his work out on, co-leading the flock with his boy, P. James, writing rap lyrics about the Master, eating a big bowl of cookies while watching a movie with the wifey, preaching God’s Word with reckless abandon, or going deep with a few men on a journey toward greater discipleship to Jesus with a protein shake in hand!

I co-lead a bangin’ group of people with my boy, Pastor James.

The Living Way family lives out the true definition of community and I am changed because of it!

Paul Hahn

Worship Pastor

As the oldest son of a Korean pastor, Paul’s life was a moral one, on the surface. It wouldn’t be until church drama unfolded over the years that he was challenged to grapple with his assumed faith for the first time. He came out of this crisis of faith with the assurance that God has been forever faithful, and he committed to living for Him from that point on. One of the first things he took on to signify the change was becoming the praise leader at his high school Christian fellowship. What transpired at that point was the pursuit of a vision of seeing greater worship take place among greater people.

Paul is married to Grace, a godly, generous, and gorgeous gal. He enjoys games (notably Tetris and Mario Kart), working out, going with Grace to places he wouldn’t otherwise go to (such as Disneyland), keeping up with the up-and-down-but-hopefully-mostly-up Lakers, and of course, music, especially worship.

What’s your role at Living Way?
I serve as the worship pastor, leading a wonderful group of worshiping musicians for His people.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
An old soul.

What makes you crack up (laugh really hard)?
Imitations of people.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who refuse to recognize God’s great design for them.

Complete this sentence: people assume I’m _____ when I’m really _____.
People assume I’m old when I’m really young.

What do you love about being part of the Living Way family?
The pastors care enough to speak the truth; community is strong; Living Way is committed to shining for God to the world.

Some of them are married now! In Kansas City, they had their first child, Paul, and then moved to Chicago again, and had Josiah and their baby daughter, Anabel.
