2:42 Prayer Campaign

Please continue to pray at 2:42PM in the month of November over these verses/topics:

1. “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” [1 Corinthians 1:10]
Prayer topic: Pray for unity and a strengthening of our community as we continue to seek God’s will for us. Pray that the enemy would not be allowed to bring any division among us but that we would truly be one in heart and mind.

2. “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” [Acts 2:42-47]
Prayer topic: Pray that Living Way would be an Acts 2:42 church. Pray that God would grow this vision in our hearts and that He would lead us to the place where we can live out this vision best.

3. “...praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” [Acts 2:47]
Prayer topic: Pray that God would show us the city/area that He wants us to impact - a place that could use a church like ours to be a vessel of His grace and truth.

4. “And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.” [Acts 2:43]
Prayer topic: Pray that God would move in miraculous ways regarding our relocation. Pray for signs and wonders that will cause us to be in awe of God and in turn, strengthen our trust in His presence and leadership.

5. “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” [Colossians 1:16-17]
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?” [Jeremiah 32:27]
Prayer topic: God is in control. There is absolutely nothing that happens in the universe that is outside of His influence and authority. Pray that we would rest in that - pray that the truth of God’s sovereignty would bring peace to our hearts and foster trust in His kingship.

6. “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.” [1 Peter 5:8-9]
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” [Ephesians 6:10-12]
Prayer topic: Pray against the evil one and his schemes. There is no question the devil is against us and the fulfillment of God’s plans for our church. Pray that the enemy would have no sway and that he would not be allowed to divide, discourage, and create disunity in our church during this important time. Pray that we would stand firm in the Lord against the forces of darkness.

7. “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” [Psalm 115:1]
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” [1 Corinthians 10:31]
Prayer topic: Pray that God would be glorified in our relocation. We have to be careful not to view this campaign through a man-centered lens where the focus is ourselves and what we want - because we are not the end, God is. God is the end of all things and everything must center on Him, not us. So pray that God would move on our behalf and lead us in our search of a new home so that we might exalt Christ and display His greatness in the world.

8. “We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.” [1 Thessalonians 5:12-13]
“Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” [Hebrews 13:7]
Prayer topic: Pray for the pastors and the Council as they lead the church in our relocation campaign. Ask the Lord to strengthen and protect them. Pray that God would grant them understanding of His will and where He is leading us - and that they in turn would lead the church with love and courage.
